Yu-Jeong Lee, cello

Ms. Yu-Jeong Lee, a daughter of career diplomat father, began her cello studies at the age of nine in McLean, Virginia. After moving back to Seoul, Korea, she continued her study at the Sunwha Performing Arts Junior High School and Seoul Performing Arts High School. She won many competitions, including the ones sponsored by Ewha Women’s University, Korea Daily and Joong Ang newspapers. She gave her debut recital at the Sejong Recital Hall at the age of thirteen before she and her family moved to Belgium where she studied at the Brussels Royal Conservatoire and received the premier prix. She went on to study at the Paris Conservatoire in Paris, France and now she is in Professional Studies Program at the Juilliard School in New York. She won the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians and St. Louis Symphony Young Artists Competition.
